Peter Anderson Arts and Crafts Festival this weekend in Downtown Ocean Springs

The Peter Anderson Arts and Crafts Festival will be taking over the streets of Downtown Ocean Springs this weekend.

It’s one of the largest fine arts festivals in Mississippi, named after local master potter Peter Anderson.

More than 300 vendors are registered for the festival, local and nationally known.

There will be live art demonstrations, music, and a food court for festivalgoers to enjoy. In past years, the festival has brought in 100,000 visitors to Downtown Ocean Springs.

It’s a long-awaited festival for art lovers and local business owners. Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Cynthia Sutton said, “We actually have businesses that try to open the weekend of Peter Anderson Festival. This is one of those events that helps our businesses sustain themselves until the next big festival in the spring. It has an economic impact of 24 million to the community of Ocean Springs.”

Vendor booths will be spread out six feet apart during the festival to encourage social distancing.

The festival runs Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
