Ocean Springs School District students and staff thank local medical heroes
One Coast school district decided there’s no time like the present to remind our healthcare heroes how valued they are.
Students and staff of the Ocean Springs School District presented banners to our local medical workers.
In the lobby of Singing River’s Ocean Springs Hospital, there were plenty of smiling faces as the banners were handed over to the hospital’s staff.
The school credits their partnership with Singing River to be able to remain open and teach safely during spikes in COVID cases. Ocean Springs Hospital Administrator Heath Thompson said, “It goes without saying it’s been a tough couple of years. It just really is uplifting for our staff to see these signatures on these banners.”
OSSD Director of Student Services Grant Dickinson said, “It really is a long overdue for all their help, assistance, the guidance, the frustrations, everything the medical field has done for us.”
The district decorated several banners each personally signed by students and staff. They’ll be handed out to not only Singing River Health System but other members of the medical community.
