Ed Orgeron not returning to LSU in 2022
LSU Head Football Coach Ed Orgeron will only carry that title for the next couple of months as he prepares to step aside following the 2021 season.
Ironic time for the news, just one day removed from a 49-42 upset win over 20th ranked Florida in Death Valley.
In two seasons following the program’s 2019 national title, the Tigers are just 9-8 overall with a record of 4-3 this year.
As part of an agreement made with the school, LSU will pay Orgeron the remainder of the near $17 million left on his contract, paid incrementally through 2025.
The Tigers have five regular season games remaining.
