Gautier man charged with aggravated assault

Pascagoula police are investigating a shooting that occurred just after 11 p.m. last night on Highway 90, leaving one man dead.
Luis Soto Jr. of Gautier is charged with one count of aggravated assault. He was taken into custody early this morning.
The shooting happened in the area of Highway 90 eastbound at Victor Street where officers found a man who was shot multiple times. The 61-year-old victim was transported to Singing River Hospital where he passed away just before midnight.
His name is being withheld until family members have been notified.
