Spectator shot on roadside at Cruisin’ the Coast

A spectator at Cruisin’ the Coast was shot on the roadside around 9:48 last night.

Biloxi Police Dispatch received several 911 calls in reference to firearms being discharged in the 1600 block of Beach Boulevard.

Occupants of two moving vehicles discharged firearms at each other during an encounter and struck an innocent bystander in the chest who is currently in stable condition.

Several hours later, a male gunshot victim entered a local hospital with a non-threatening gunshot wound. According to police, it is unknown at this time if that individual was involved in the incident.

Cruisers News 25 spoke to today said they are not going to let this incident spoil their fun. Cruiser Thomas Carter said, “I also firmly believe that the police will get a handle on it. It’ll be safe here for next year and the rest of this year. It’s not something that particularly happens in Mississippi. It’s not something that happens on the Coast, and I don’t think it’ll happen again because of the police presence will be much stronger from now on.”

The vehicles involved were identified as a silver Nissan Sedan and a black Dodge Charger, both displaying unknown license plates.
