Special Olympians Skate with Disney on Ice

Some of our local special Olympians got a special chance to skate with the stars of Disney on Ice.
Some of the skaters who will be performing all weekend took time out of practicing to spend some time with the special Olympians, taking them around the same ice rink Anna, Elsa, Ariel, and Cinderella will grace this weekend. Each special Olympian received a medal at the end and even got a visit from Mickey and Minnie Mouse, an exciting surprise for the Olympians. This is something the performers say they enjoy doing every chance they get.
Special Olympian Jeff Varnarsdale said, “It’s pretty neat. First time skating in a long time.”
Disney on Ice Performer Morgan Bell said, “It’s great to be able to come out and share the show and share all these characters and for them to be able to see their favorite princesses and heroes live and in action. The show is really great and I hope they enjoyed coming out to skate with us as much as we enjoyed skating with them.”
