U.S. Customs and Border Patrol seize narcotics on the Coast
The U.S. Customs and Border Patrol along with the Southern Mississippi Metro Enforcement Team arrested two Honduran nationals and seized six kilos of narcotics worth $170,000 in Ocean Springs last month.
In the early morning hours of September 16th, a Gulfport station agent observed a suspicious vehicle heading westbound on I-10 in Ocean Springs and conducted a traffic stop.
During the stop, a records check showed the owner of the vehicle had ties to a narcotics smuggling ring operating out of the Rio Grande Valley.
Agents were also alerted to a smell near the rear passenger door of the truck. That’s when they discovered a large plastic bag containing 50 packages of methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl under a back seat.
The FBI is handling prosecution of this case.
