New Details in Armed Robbery Shooting in Pascagoula
The suspects that police say shot a man during an armed robbery in Pascagoula yesterday will not be facing jail time.
Pascagoula police responded to an armed robbery that escalated into a shooting in the Eastwood Townhomes early Sunday morning.
Authorities say a Jackson County man was followed home from a fast food stop in Moss Point and then robbed at gunpoint. Lieutenant Doug Adams said the victim was shot below the waist.
Lt. Adams tells News 25 the suspects robbed the victim of an undetermined amount of cash, but the victim is not pressing charges. “They do have suspects, but when the victim decided he did not want to pursue the investigation and pursue charges, it’s pretty much a dead issue with us.”
Adams says the victim’s injuries were not life-threatening.
Pascagoula police also responded to an unrelated incident over the weekend where one man was stabbed and died. The suspect is facing murder charges and was taken to the Jackson County Jail.
