One Killed In Bourbon St. Mass Shooting
One person is dead and nine others are injured after gunfire erupts in the heart of New Orleans’ France Quarter overnight yesterday. Police say shots rang out around 1:30 Sunday morning on the famous Bourbon Street. They say 25 year old Demontris Toliver was killed and nine others were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police say at least 40 officers responded immediately because of several holiday events going on in the area. They say the two suspects involved in the shooting remain at large, but they know who they are looking for. Officials called the shooting a “cowardly act” by people with “no regard for human life.”
“This shooting appears to have stemmed from an argument between two males who are not from New Orleans, who actually met each other in the 100 block of Bourbon Street. We believe they ran into each other in the street and an argument ensued at that time that stemmed from an argument that was Already from another place at which point the argument turned to a shootout. After that, they both fled the scene.”

Police say they don’t believe that any of the victims who were shot were the intended targets.
