Biloxi Police Search for Bank Robbery Suspect
A manhunt is still on for the person who robbed The Peoples Bank on Pass Road in Biloxi this afternoon.
The male suspect entered the bank unarmed and demanded money from two different bank tellers. He fled the scene on foot after collecting an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect is described as a heavy-set male between 5’9 and 5’10. He was last seen wearing a grey hoodie, khaki pants with a brown belt, brown shoes, and a ski mask. Witnesses are still unsure of his race, but believe he could be Hispanic or a light-skinned black male.
Officers are now in the process of compiling surveillance video to determine which direction the suspect went after the robbery. Captain Bruce Johnson with Biloxi PD said, “We’re reviewing video. We’ve got our bank robbery response plan. We’ve put officers in locations that you would have to go through if you were leaving the city and monitoring traffic to see if anyone fits the description. We had a K9 out here who checked this area. We’re checking businesses around us for video and for any other witnesses.”
There were four people inside of the bank at the time of the robbery. None of those people were injured.
The bank did close for the remainder of the day, but plans to open for business as usual tomorrow morning.
Anyone with any information is encouraged to call the Biloxi Police Department.
