Memorial Hospital Honors Veterans
The flag is raised, saluting all the veterans who served our nation at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport.
Memorial Hospital staff, patients and the community gathered for a veteran’s recognition and remembrance ceremony this morning. The presentation of the colors was done by the Gulfport High School ROTC color guard.
Leading a silent prayer for the vets, Memorial Hospital Chief Financial Officer Jeff Steiner shared a speech and thanked the veterans there for attending.
Steiner tells News 25 a large amount of veterans are patients and staff at the hospital. “It’s appropriate that we honor our veterans today for really 240 years the people that have served and defended us, some giving the ultimate sacrifice of being killed or dying defending our freedom. This is a chance to say thank you and we appreciate that.”
The hospital also collected food to be donated to the veteran’s administration.
