Part of Cedar Lake to Close for Five Weeks
A major sewer project is in the works for Cedar Lake Road in Biloxi.
The city will introduce sewer service to a half dozen neighborhoods along Cedar Lake Road starting Monday. That means road closure for five weeks. The portion of Cedar Lake just north of the interstate all the way up to the bridge will be closed off while manholes, a sewer main and connections are installed.
The $2.5 million project is funded through a loan from the Mississippi Development Bank.
City of Biloxi Public Affairs Manager Vincent Creel said, “What we’re advising people to do is know that there is a detour route where you can take Highway 67 and Popps Ferry Road and work your way around. The good news is there is only about 6,000 motorists that travel that area on any given day. That sounds like it’s a lot of motorists, but it’s not the 29,000 that travel the south end of Cedar Lake Road.”
Road work is scheduled to wrap up December 16th.
