Epps Arrested for Burglary

Former Corrections Commissioner Christopher Epps was arrested today in Flowood, Mississippi on charges of burglary. Flowood police say they arrested Epps for allegedly removing light fixtures from his home which was forfeited as part of his February 2015 guilty plea to bribery charges.
Epps is accused of running one of the largest criminal conspiracies in state history, taking nearly one and half million dollars in bribes and kickbacks over eight years to steer more than $800 million worth of state prison contacts.
He faces up to 23 years in prison and is forfeiting $1.7 million in assets. His new sentencing date is set for May 24th.
