Ocean Springs School District Celebration

The Ocean Springs school district celebrated their excellence during a celebration today. Dr. Carey wright, the state superintendent of education stopped by the celebration to talk about the success of the ocean springs school district The school district was recognized for achieving an “A” rating in the 20-16-17 state wide accountability results. But that is not the only accomplishment that was celebrated today

“Not only did we celebrate our teachers with an inaugural blue apple award that recognizes the teachers that had the highest amount of growth but we also celebrated our administrator of the year Mrs. Susan Dollar who is a principal at the upper elementary. We celebrated the high school being the number one high school on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in terms of academic performance And we also had our celebration of our advance placement incentive winners.” – Dr. Bonita Coleman Superintendent Of Schools

Dr. Coleman tells News 25 that 173 students each earned 100 dollars for achieving a three or better an AP Exam
