National Walk to School Day

Hundreds of students walked hand in hand with their parents to school this morning.
The national event Walk to School Day encourages kids to spend extra time with their loved ones and also get exercise. Pecan Park Elementary participated and the turnout was high.
Both students and parents in Ocean Springs enjoyed the extra time they had with their children. Pecan Park Elementary student Abigail Baylis said, “First of all, it is good exercise and I like to show them my school again.” John Baylis said, “I think she really enjoyed herself and we got our younger daughter out here who is not in school yet and she had a lot of fun, too.”
Students who participated in Walk to School Day received a water bottle and pencil from Pecan Park Elementary.
