St. Martin Football Preview
For the second year in a row, St. Martin is off to a 3-1 start in district play. For the second year in a row, St. Martin is set to play its rival in game number five.
Coming to town tomorrow night is Ocean Springs, a team the Yellowjackets haven’t beaten in quite a while. 2015 was almost their year as they came up just short in a 31-29 thriller.
Things could be different for real this time with St. Martin featuring the nation’s second leading receiver Kalem Reddix and the Greyhounds two games back in league play.
St. Martin Head Coach Eddie Whitehead said, “I don’t think so, probably Greyhound dominance or something like that for the last ten years. Hopefully we get that turned around this year. It always seems to have a big impact on the playoffs and especially the last few years and they’ve had our number. It’s not really anything to do with Ocean Springs, but I know how important this game is for playoffs for both of us. We need a win. They need a win. Whoever comes out on top is going to be looking a lot better.”
The Yellowjackets and Greyhounds get things kicked off at 7 p.m. tomorrow at St. Martin.
