Moss Point Fraud Investigation

We’re working to gather more information into the investigation regarding potential fraud in the City of Moss Point.
What we do know right now is that someone in the city reached out to the District Attorney’s Office to look into multiple departments including the utilities department and the Moss Point Police Department.
The DA then contacted the state auditor’s office to investigate.
The finance director discovered some discrepancies in the accounting in the utilities department.
News 25 has yet to receive a response from Moss Point Mayor Billy Broomfield.
We have a crew in Moss Point this afternoon and will have more information tonight.
