Gulfport mayor’s annual business address

This morning, Gulfport Mayor Billy Hewes gave his annual business address to community leaders at the Island View Casino.
The theme of the address this morning was ‘concept to reality.’ Mayor Hewes and the rest of the Gulfport city employees felt like many projects that had been in the works for many years finally became reality this year.
Ground was broken on both the Courthouse Road Project and the Dedeaux Road Project which are both projects that had been in progress for many years. “We talk about so many ideas and there are so many folks that have good concepts, but it is one thing to talk about it, but the other is to bring it to reality and it takes time and we get impatient, but today we were able to talk about something like from everything as simple as the One Coast tag to the Bark Park, the 34th Street Park that is going to be walking trail, disk golf, bike path, kayak launch to the aquarium,” said Mayor Hewes.
Mayor Hewes also talked about the Lifetime movie “Christmas in Mississippi” that was filmed in Gulfport. The movie will premiere on Lifetime on December 9th.
