The fate of Ole Miss football

Today we’re learning more about NCAA sanctions set to be imposed against the University of Mississippi football program.
The committee on infractions added a year to Ole Miss’ postseason ban, now running through the 2018 season. This means senior players now have the opportunity to transfer without penalty.
The committee has also given the Rebels three years of probation and 13 scholarship reductions, which will be added to their already imposed reduction of 11 scholarships over the next four years.
Former head coach Hugh Freeze will face a two game suspension if hired elsewhere and other members of his staff face potential penalties.
New head coach and former offensive line coach Matt Luke has not been named in the sanctions.
