MAN ARRESTED FOR RAPE AND KIDNAPPING

Gulfport Police Sgt. Joshua Bromen tells News 25, the Gulfport Police Department has arrested a man on charges of kidnapping and rape.

Thirty-three old Odelle Scott of Beaumont, MS was arrested on those charges yesterday.

Investigations into this case show a complaint of kidnapping and rape at a residence at the 3000 block of 54th Ave. in Gulfport. The adult victim says the suspect, who is her ex-boyfriend, forced his way into her home and held her at gunpoint. Once in the home, Scott physically assaulted the victim and raped her.

Scott has been transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center and is being held in lieu of a $500,000 bond set by Harrison County Justice Court Judge Brandon Ladner. Scott was also held with no bond on a violation of probation warrant through the MS Dept. of Corrections.
