09/09 – Brantly’s “Drier Days Ahead” Thursday Morning Forecast
Good news is on the way, as the cold front moves through the region during the morning on Thursday and should be south of the area by Thursday afternoon. This will turn the winds northwest to northerly during the course of the day on Thursday, with some cooler and much drier air moving into the area. Low temps early Thursday morning just ahead of the front will remain muggy, in the upper 60s and low 70s. Highs on Thursday and Friday will range from the lower 80s northwest zones to the mid and upper 80s southeast zones and coastal areas. Lows Thursday night expected to be quite a bit cooler, ranging from the upper 50s to near 60 northwestern zones to the low to mid 60s down along the I-10 corridor. some immediate coastal areas will be in the upper 60s to near 70.
After a brief taste of autumn with sunny and dry conditions, the moisture will rapidly return as deep moisture moves in along with a tropical disturbance moving north out of the southwest gulf on Sunday. Right now, we are expecting to squeeze in a mostly dry weekend as models typically are bit aggressive in early returning moisture recovery after a dry airmass has been in place. High pressure will move off to the east of the area Sunday night and Monday with very deep moisture returning from the Gulf of Mexico by Monday.
