Veterans Day Celebration at MGCCC Jefferson Davis

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College has been honoring current and past military members all week long to prepare for Veterans Day.
Students and faculty at the Jefferson Davis Campus in Gulfport held their annual Veterans Day event where past military members spoke about the importance of the day.
Over 15 percent of the students at the Jefferson Davis Campus are active duty military or veterans and those who planned the event tell News 25 their goal is to make sure all students know the importance of Veterans Day. Dr. Jonathan Woodward with MGCCC said, “And the aim is to really enlighten about the sacrifices made by active duty, right now, and veterans in the past so to emphasize their success today is built on the shoulders of the sacrifices made in the past by our incredible military.”
Veterans and active duty military were presented with a flag that flew over the U.S. Capital in Washington, D.C. It will be displayed in the military services office on campus.
