D’Iberville Road Closures Aren’t Over Yet

Monday night, one of the southbound lanes on I-110 will be closed from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Crews will be raising the bridge beams that will form the frame of the bridge, which will replace the old Big Ridge Bridge, which was destroyed earlier this year. The work will be done at night to minimize delays, but some delays are unavoidable, and law enforcement will be on hand to make sure that traffic flows smoothly during the lane closures.

Tuesday night, another southbound lane will be closed, and then on Wednesday and Thursday, a northbound lane will be closed as crews continue work on the other side. This bridge update is just one part of the larger D’Iberville road project, which will add on and off ramps to Lamey Bridge Road and add the state’s first diverging diamond intersection on the I-10 overpass. The entire project is slated for completion in 2015.
