Gov. Bryant On State Flag Removal
Gov. Bryant speaks out after Mississippi State University officials decide to take down the state flag across campus. In a strong statement, Bryant says Mississippi’s public universities are teaching disrespect for state law by removing the state’s flag, with its confederate battle emblem. Bryant Tuesday reiterated his position that voters should get a second crack at deciding whether Mississippi changes its 1894 flag. Mississippi State is the sixth of our state’s eight public universities to remove the state from campus including Ole Miss and Southern Miss.
