Orange Grove Students Get a Lesson in Music

Abby Emmons, a 10th grade student from Ocean Springs, is pursuing a career as a recording artist. She performed for students as they sang along with her. Emmons is the Youth Ambassador for the Rock U 2 Foundation, which provides music scholarships and lessons for children in south Mississippi.

Emmons says, “For me, it’s opened up many opportunities of seeing children on the Gulf Coast, since Mississippi is basically where music has started and is founded from. It’s great being able to see kids to get the opportunities and to be able to get up on stages and to perform and to follow their dreams. It’s just very nice.”

Emmons tells News 25 she is hoping to expand her career in the music industry.
