Hurricane Ida relief efforts around the Gulf Coast
Just days after Hurricane Ida blew through the Gulf Coast, local communities are stepping up to help those in need.
In an area that’s seen significant damage, the George County Sheriff’s Office is collecting hurricane relief supplies for those impacted by Hurricane Ida. Drop-offs can be made at the George County Sheriff’s Office Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. in the courthouse.
Donations will be accepted until the trailer is full. Some items needed include cleaning supplies, baby supplies, non-perishable food items. Blankets, bottled water, pet food, and more. Contact the GCSO at 601-4811 with any questions.
In Pascagoula, the fire department is also hosting a supply drive for those impacted by Ida. Donations can be dropped off at the Pascagoula Senior Center through September 8th.
Clothing will not be accepted, but some of the items needed include cleaning supplies, hand sanitizer, face masks, soap, bottled water, and canned food.
