Vancleave Family Arrested
A Vancleave man is back in jail for violating his probation. His relatives are charged with trying to help him while he was on the run.
Twenty-four year-old Shelby Hines is accused of violating his probation by walking away from a court ordered drug and alcohol program at Home of Grace.
Sheriff Mike Ezell says deputies went to the home of Hine’s mother and stepfather in Vancleave after receiving a tip that Hines was there. When deputies arrived, Hines’ mother, Jane Webb, said her son ran to the woods. Hines’ stepfather, Greg Webb, told authorities Hines was not there.
As one investigator questioned Hines’ mother, another deputy found Hines hiding under the house. Hines was taken into custody without further incident.
Both Greg and Jan Webb were also arrested on misdemeanor charges for allegedly hiding Hines and lying about his whereabouts. Both are free on bond.
