Gulfport Community Rallies against Burglaries

One Gulfport councilwoman is fighting back against recent burglaries and is asking the community for support.
Ella Holmes-Hines is hosting a meeting at the Isaiah Fredrick’s Community Center at 6 p.m. for open dialogue between residents and law enforcement.
This comes after a spike in home burglaries in west Gulfport.
Hines held a gathering back in June about crime prevention in Gulfport where residents spoke to a panel of city officials including Police Chief Leonard Papania and Mayor Billy Hewes.
This is an effort to be proactive against the recent crimes and speak with law enforcement directly on the issue.
