Bond Set for Alleged Home Invader
Bond has been set for the man accused of breaking into a Vancleave home with a pickaxe early Friday morning.
Thirty-six year-old Anthony Lee Smith of Prairieville, Louisiana is being held at the Jackson County Jail on a $25,000 bond on a home invasion charge and a $10,000 bond for commercial burglary for a total $35,000 bond.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, Lee broke into a home on Wire Road armed with a pickaxe after allegedly breaking into a shed on the property.
Smith was on the run for 36 hours before surrendering to deputies Saturday afternoon on O’Neal Road in Vancleave.
Smith is also wanted in Louisiana and Alabama for unrelated charges.
