Silver Slipper Moves Closer to Hotel Completion

Wednesday, the Silver Slipper moved one step closer toward completing its hotel. In a topping off ceremony Wednesday morning, the last piece of steel was placed at the highest point of the hotel.

The construction site was definitely noisy Wednesday as construction crews move forward full force to get the hotel completed. The tentative opening date is March 17th, 2015, and when the hotel doors open, there will be 142 rooms with two casino suites and six regular suites. This means about 50 new jobs for Hancock County, and another major boost for the local economy and for the Silver Slipper.

John Ferrucci, General Manager of the Silver Slipper, says, “So what this does for us is obviously take us to the next level. Now we have room for 250 or so. People who can stay overnight, drive home safely in the morning, have their events, their parties they want to do here. We can accommodate most of those. So it really puts us where we need to be.”

Construction started more than a year ago, so now is the final push.
