Tunnel to Towers 5K run and climb

More than 400 first responders lost their lives on September 11, 2001 trying to save their fellow Americans.
Sixteen years later, people in Biloxi participated in Tunnel to Towers 5K run and climb to honor the memory of fallen New York City Firefighter Stephen Siller and help raise funds to support area first responders and their families. Images of the fallen 9/11 heroes lined the route in tribute to fallen heroes.
Money was also raised to build specially equipped homes for disabled veterans. Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation Co Director Bridget Lopez said, “Even though those initial attacks happened 16 years ago, now it’s still current. We still have men and woman overseas fighting for us every day and unfortunately not all of them make it home the same way that they left and just to raise awareness and honor them and their sacrifices and all the services that they have put in for their country.”
