Gulfport helps out Texas community

Gulfport officials made it to Rockport, Texas on Tuesday and today they met with the sheriff’s Office for a relief effort meeting.
The Rockport Police Department toured the city with Gulfport Mayor Billy Hewes, showing the destruction of Hurricane Harvey. Hundreds of homes and buildings are ripped apart from Harvey’s aftermath.
The Gulfport fire and police department are now working together, lending a helping hand and even preparing lunch for the first responders, local community and volunteers.
