Life without parole for aggravated assault
A Jackson County man will serve life in prison without the possibility of parole after a jury finds him guilty of strangling his girlfriend.
Thirty-six year-old James Brown was accused of one count of aggravated domestic violence after Gautier police investigated the case of him strangling his girlfriend in February 2013. Brown was a six time convicted felon, two of which were prior crimes of violence, which made him a habitual offender under the law.
