Friday Night is High School Football Night

It’s Friday night, and that means high school football. Gulfport High School and Biloxi High School meet for the 90th time on the football field. Fans filled the stands early Friday evening in anticipation for this big rivalry game.

The stakes are high. Gulfport needs this win to secure their spot in the state playoffs. If tradition can tell us anything, Gulfport has the edge. They haven’t lost against the Indians at home since 1984, and have won the rivalry game the last two seasons.

Biloxi isn’t going to make it easy though, as they are trying to shake off a six game losing streak. The seniors for Biloxi would love to get one more win in against their rivals. Some freshmen on the team played a key role the last time the Indians won against the Admirals. Both coaches know this win means bragging rights until next year.
