Pearl River County receives funding for emergency services

PEARL RIVER COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)-Pearl River County will be upgrading its emergency services capabilities, receiving $750,000 in federal grant funding.

That money is going towards the county’s emergency services and operations center. The money will also be used to purchase new equipment and emergency vehicles for the county.

The funding also supports the county’s multipurpose and emergency operations center project which include a new EOC, convention center space, and a future multipurpose arena.

Also being purchased is an emergency cascade system, a device that ensures continuous, uninterrupted supply of breathing air or medical-grade oxygen during critical incidents.
