Rain chance returns over Halloween weekend
Meteorologist Sam Lucey has a look at the forecast for south Mississippi
Tonight stays mostly cloudy with temperatures settling into the mid 60s by Saturday morning, and afternoon highs near 79 degrees.
There is an isolated chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon, so we could see a few passing showers during Halloween festivities. However, rain chances taper off Saturday evening, although a stray shower or storm can’t be ruled out early in the evening.
Sunday looks to be the wettest day of the forecast, with rain chances climbing to around 70%, so keep the umbrella handy if you’re heading out to church early or have any other outdoor plans. High temperatures will reach the mid to upper 70s, with mostly cloudy skies and a breezy east wind.
By Monday, we’ll see some improvement as rain chances decrease and partly sunny skies return. Highs will remain in the upper 70s, with overnight temperatures in the mid-60s. However, rain chances aren’t completely out of the picture just yet. A few showers could develop Tuesday afternoon, followed by additional opportunities for showers and thunderstorms Tuesday night into Wednesday.
