13 former Shuckers help Brewers capture first World Series title in franchise history

BILOXI, MS – On Wednesday night, with the help of 13 different former Biloxi Shuckers, the Milwaukee Brewers captured their first World Series title in franchise history, capping off a historic season and playoff run that saw the team finish the regular season 103-59 before an 11-2 record in the postseason, including a five-game victory over the Tampa Bay Rays in the World Series.

The series was littered with former Shuckers, 15 in total between the teams, with Jacob Misiorowski (’23-’24) and Cooper Pratt (’24-’25) shining the brightest in Game 5. Pratt, who possibly finished runner-up in World Series MVP voting (if voting totals were public), went 2-for-3 in Game 5, extending a streak with hits in six consecutive at-bats to cap a tremendous rookie campaign.

Jacob Misiorowski, the favorite to unanimously take home the National League Cy Young Award, held the Rays scoreless for 5.2 innings and finished the postseason with a 1.89 ERA (4er, 19.0ip).

Jackson Chourio (’22-’23) also continued his incredible World Series campaign in Game 5 with a hit, finishing the Fall Classic with an eye-popping .458 average (11-for-24) with a pair of doubles.

In total, 13 former Shuckers were on the Brewers active roster, spanning from veterans like Brandon Woodruff (’16) to youngsters like Pratt and Luis Lara (’25).

19 former Shuckers are set to receive World Series rings for their contributions throughout the season, meaning 34% of the Brewers 2026 roster had connections to the Shuckers. That number doesn’t include pieces acquired with help from the Shuckers, such as JoJo Romero and Game 4 starter Dustin May, both acquired at the deadline from the St. Louis Cardinals in exchange for a package that included former Shucker Josiah Ragsdale (’26). Antonio Senzatela also appeared throughout the World Series with connections to the Shuckers. He was acquired at the deadline from the Colorado Rockies for another package, this one involving former Shucker Mark Manfredi Sr. (’25-’26).

Behind the scenes, multiple former Shuckers appeared on the Brewers MLB coaching staff, including pitching coach Chris Hook (’15-’17) and bullpen catcher Christian Correa (’23). The group joins Orlando Arcia (’15) as the only players to win the World Series in Shuckers franchise history.
