Ocean Springs High principal appointed to National Assessment Governing Board

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WXXV)- Ocean Springs High School Principal Dr. Jacob Dykes is being appointed to a high position.

U.S. Education Secretary Linda McMahon has appointed Dr. Dykes to the National Board.

This board sets policies for the nation’s report card.

Dr. Dykes has earned recognition for his achievements, athletics and student opportunities, also serving on the state department of education accountability task force.

The National Board determines which grades and subjects to assess on the nation’s report card, what content to include, how achievement levels should be set, and ways to make the report card results meaningful to the public.
