Margaritaville Grand Opening

After much anticipation, Margaritaville Resort is now officially open to the public.
News 25’s Kendra Turley takes us to today’s grand opening.
It’s 5 o’clock somewhere, Margaritaville Biloxi to be exact. After years of planning and construction, hundreds rushed through the door for the grand opening of the newest resort along the Gulf Coast. Margaritaville Chief of Operations Joe Farruggio said, “It’s been about two years in the making and here we are on opening day and we’re full of people.”
The 55,000 square foot family entertainment floor was a hit for all ages. “It’s very family oriented because my grandkids are enjoying themselves and having a good time as well as my niece and my sister-in-law and we’re just having a great time,” said Gulfport resident Michael Myles.
The world’s largest Pac-Man game, a giant rock climbing volcano, a ropes course and an indoor zip-line are just some of the attractions Gulf Coast residents were eager to get their hands on.
In an area that’s dominated by casinos, Margaritaville Resort Biloxi offers a place for the whole family to enjoy. Executive staff members tell News 25 they wanted an area where all people can bring out their inner kid.
Hotel guests can also enjoy an authentic island-inspired experience with the resort’s 450 foot lazy river, two water slides, swim-up bar, lounge pool, and more. “I mean, they’ve got everything for all ages. If you want to have fun on arcade games or drink or hang out by the pool, awesome lazy rivers. It’s pretty cool,” said Biloxi resident Cody Shaffer
And if the resort’s arcade floor and water playground aren’t enough to draw you in, Margaritaville Biloxi provides a variety of restaurant options: seafood, steakhouse, ice cream, you name it. “I will say Margaritaville, it’s not a slogan, this is a lifestyle,” said Farruggio.
