Updated absentee voting numbers released ahead of general election

With just over a week until Election Day, absentee voting continues across Mississippi.

New numbers released by the Mississippi Secretary of State’s Office show more than 64,000 absentee ballots have been requested and sent to voters and more than 56,000 completed ballots have already been returned to Circuit Clerk Offices statewide.

The Secretary of State’s Office reminds voters that in-person absentee voting ends Saturday, October 31.

Mail-in absentee ballots must be postmarked by election day to be counted.

Voters can also track their absentee ballot through the state’s My Election Day portal.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on November 3. Voters must bring valid photo ID and photos of marked ballots are not permitted.
