Stone County School District dedicates new Tomcat Field

STONE COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- Before the whistle blew between the Stone Tomcats and Vancleave Bulldogs, Tomcat Nation held a special event that will forever be part of history.

The Stone County School District has officially dedicated Tomcat field, the first true home football field in Stone High history.

The blue and white held a ‘welcome home, Tomcats,’ ceremony prior to kickoff that celebrated generations of Tomcats and the community support that helped bring the long-awaited facility to life.

The event included performances by the Stone High Pride and Stone Middle School bands, recognition of the turf sponsors, and a special generational walk featuring former Stone football players, cheerleaders, band members, along with current and future Tomcats as well.

Stone defeated the Vancleave Bulldogs 59-20.
