Singing River Health System launches mobile clinic
MOSS POINT, Miss. (WXXV)- Singing River Health System is taking health care beyond the doctor’s office and directly into the community.
The health system unveiled its new mobile clinic in Moss Point.
Healthcare is hitting the road. Singing River Health System’s new mobile clinic is designed to bring medical services directly to the communities that need them. SRHS Chief Ambulatory Officer Pat Shirey said, “It’s very convenient to bring the mobile unit out wherever the patients and community is whether it’s a festival, church or a community center like here at the Moss Point Senior Center. We’ve had several events over the last month and we’ll continue to offer vaccinations because we are in flu season. There’s a lot of different opportunities to come out and meet the patients at their convenience close to their home.”
Services may include wellness checks, preventative screenings, vaccinations, blood pressure and diabetes care, medication management, and care for common illnesses.
The clinic is scheduled to make several stops. That includes the Harrison County Senior Boo Bash on October 22 and stops at the Community Action Center in Moss Point on November 19th and December 17th.
Community members should bring a photo ID and their insurance card, if available. “We would love for you guys to reach out to us, if there’s some event you’d like us to come to, we are happy to be here and be present. Our goal and mission at Singing River is to improve health and save lives so we’re going to partner with you and community organizations to do that.”
This is just a continued effort to expand access to care and bring health care closer to home.
