Parents who Abandoned Children on Highway Surrender to Authorities

Mississippi police say a mother who allegedly abandoned her three children on the side of a highway this week has surrendered to authorities.
The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office says Keyundra Peels faces one count of felony child abandonment and two counts of felony desertion of a child.
The children’s father, 31-year-old Quincy Peels, turned himself in on Wednesday.
Police say the parents dropped the children off on the side of Highway 80 near the Rankin-Hinds County line on Tuesday. The children were three, seven and ten-years-old. They say the children were left wandering along the roadside for about an hour before they were picked up by law enforcement. None of them were hurt.
