Lucedale man arrested for officer impersonation in Florida

FORT WALTON BEACH, FL (WXXV)- A Lucedale man is behind bars in Florida, accused of impersonating a police officer.

Fort Walton Beach Police say 39-year-old Nicholas O’Bryant was spotted working security at a Home Depot while wearing what appeared to be a police uniform and carrying a gun.

Investigators say O’Bryant had credentials identifying him as a law enforcement officer, but he’s not a sworn officer in Mississippi.

He was arrested Monday and charged with falsely impersonating a law enforcement officer.
