South State Sweet sends Our Lady Academy back to the Class 3A State Championship!

The Lady Crescents hosted the Bobcats with a trip to the state championship on the line, and OLA delivered when it mattered most.

The opening set was a tight battle, with the teams tied at 6-6 before Madeline Piazza came up with a big block to give the Lady Crescents an advantage.

Leading 9-7, OLA continued to build momentum. Krissi Pavoloni set the ball to the outside, where Lola Haas delivered a powerful kill off the block to extend the lead to three.

Taylor Henley followed with a line shot, finishing a set from Pavoloni to push the Lady Crescents ahead 13-9.

OLA kept the pressure on as Kaylin Kinniburgh connected with Leah Laporte for another kill. With the Lady Crescents closing in on the set, Pavoloni delivered an ace after PCS struggled to get a second touch on the ball.

Piazza then came up with another key block alongside Kinniburgh to put OLA one point away from taking the opening set.

The Lady Crescents closed it out, winning 25-17, and carried that momentum through the rest of the match to capture the Class 3A South State Championship.

Now, OLA turns its attention to the state title, where the Lady Crescents will face Kossuth at Mississippi College on Friday at 10 a.m.
