Mississippi Power mobilizes more than 1,500 personnel ahead of Hurricane Isaias

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- Mississippi Power has mobilized more than 1,500 employees, contractors, and support personnel to respond to customers impacted by the storm.

The crews are staged locally and prepared to begin working. The company has opened its storm center and is implementing its storm plan. Storm directors and teams responsible for critical company functions have been meeting throughout the day to monitor the storm, coordinate logistics, and oversee the storm response.

The company is using data analytics and working with meteorologists to determine which areas may be impacted the most and shifting resources as needed. Mississippi Power says it remains in a strong position to respond to its customers across the entire service area.
