Mississippi Power implementing storm response plan ahead of Hurricane Isaias

As Hurricane Isaias approaches landfall, Mississippi Power is implementing its storm response plan and opened its Storm Center.

Storm directors and teams of critical company functions are coordinating throughout the day to monitor the system and its impacts, coordinate logistics, and oversee the company’s storm response.

More than 1,500 employees, contractors, and support personnel have been mobilized for customers who may be impacted by the storm, including 950 outside line crews, tree trimmers, and damage assessors from 12 states staged locally and ready to respond

A storm staging site is being opened in Jackson County, and Mississippi Power is coordinating with local emergency agencies and officials.

Mississippi Power officials say it remains prepared to respond across its service territory and is urging customers to stay weather aware.
