Hurricane Isaias continues to strengthen in the Gulf.

As of 4 p.m., maximum sustained winds are up to 100 miles per hour, and additional strengthening is anticipated through early Friday.

Isaias is moving northeast at 12 miles per hour and is expected to turn north Friday, with landfall along the northern Gulf Coast, specifically near the AL-FL state line, late Friday or overnight hours.

For South Mississippi, the forecast still remains dependent on the exact track, but communities in Jackson and George counties could see increasing tropical-storm force winds, a few heavy rain bands, and the potential for minor storm surge.
