Community celebrates opening of new Chick-fil-A on Pass Road in Biloxi
BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)- The wait is finally over for Chick-Fil-A fans in Biloxi.
A new location on Pass Road is now open and hundreds turned out to celebrate the big day.
Chick-Fil-A is officially open on Pass Road in Biloxi. To celebrate the grand opening, customers who showed up for the ‘moove-in day’ party in cow-themed attire received a free entrée or kids meal as part of the celebration and a little gift to the community. Customer Janie Carroll said, “It feels great because our brother has worked at Chick-Fil-A since he was 16 and now that he’s moved here, we can come here or go to the one by our house. It’s just a great feeling!”
For local families, the new location means they can enjoy their favorite meals without having to travel to another city. Customer Layla Burnette said, “I’m happy I don’t have to make the drive to D’Iberville every time now. I’m happy it’s in Biloxi and it’s right next to my house. My favorite thing to get is chicken minis for breakfast. I’m just super excited and I love Chick-Fil-A!”
The new location is offering about 120 jobs, creating new employment opportunities, and contributing to the city’s economic growth.
Chick-Fil-A Owner Mitchell Daniel says supporting the community will be an important part of its presence in Biloxi. “Corporate Chick-Fil-A gives $25,000 to a company called Feed America. It’s one of our prerogatives is to try to end world hunger and that’s how we give back. Locally, we have a program called Share Table. Feeding the Gulf Coast is a non-profit that we’re working with. Any food that we overcook or waste, we do a food save process to make sure it gets saved. Then, they come pick it up and they’re able to use that to make other recipes to feed the homeless in our community.”
After seeing hundreds of customers come out to celebrate the grand opening, Chick-Fil-A staff says they’re grateful for the support and they’re ready to serve the community.
