Mississippi receives grant to boost youth suicide prevention and mental health support
The Mississippi Department of Mental Health has received a five-year federal grant to strengthen youth suicide prevention efforts across the state.
The program will focus on youth and young adults up to age 24 with an emphasis on early identification, intervention, and access to support.
DMH will partner with schools, colleges, healthcare providers, juvenile justice professionals, and community organizations to strengthen mental health referrals and care coordination for at-risk youth.
